The impeachment inquiry of Orange 45 are finally underway, and it feels like we're beginning to get some oxygen back into our lives. The fight's just begun, but it's started, and that more than we could say before.
Remember, there's an additional show over at https://www.patreon.com/StarlightSociety every week for subscribers who pay just $5 a month, but this week, I threw it up for everyone, so feel free to get your second show of the week there if that interests you.
(Also, of course I put a Front 242 track in Show 242...)
A big block of this particular episode is dedicated to some of the musical titans we lost over the last few weeks, but there's also a bunch of cool new things, and some more obscure finds from deep in the past. Say hi over at @Devinoch and consider signing up for our Patreon, where you get an additional show every week for just $5/month. It's a steal of a deal if you ask me, which you didn't, but I'm telling you anyway.
Another Monday, another exclusive Patreon show! You could get them all for just $5 a month! https://www.patreon.com/posts/p7-my-crazy-arms-30019371
While my oldest friend was shaken with the death of Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain in 1994, it wasn't until 1997 when I was shaken similarly, by the death of INXS frontman Michael Hutchence. The music of INXS had been part of my life since the late 80s, and had personal significance to me in a lot of ways.
When I decided I was going to do Remembering shows in the vein of our RIP shows, I knew I was going to get to Hutchence eventually. So today, I take 2 1/2 hours to walk you through one of the best lead singers in rock to die far too early, at the age of 37.
I feel like the music of INXS has sort of disappeared since he died, which is a damn shame. Lots of people seem like they've never heard of them, or they'll hear one of the band's singles and go "oh, is that who that is?" That breaks my heart.
So let's cover Michael's entire career, including detours, and talk a bit about how it all ended.
If you want a regular show, come back next week. The rest of you, strap in. It's an emotional one for me.
